Cabinet software for kitchen dealers and installers in Australia
An Australian kitchen dealer quotes the same way as one in the US: a supplier's trade list, a discount or multiplier, a margin on top, then installation. What changes is everything around the numbers: Australian dollars on the quote, GST at 10%, an ABN on the invoice, units in metric. Cabinet Project sets those up from your company address, so the first quote already reads right.
What is set for Australia
| Item | In Cabinet Project |
|---|---|
| Currency | Quotes, orders, invoices and the client portal in Australian dollars |
| Tax | A tax line named GST at 10%, added on top of the price |
| Tax number | Your ABN printed on quotes and invoices |
| Units | Metric, in centimetres; inches if you switch |
| Calendar | Australian national public holidays on the schedule |
| Plans | The Australian list, in AUD, before GST |
| App | In American English, Spanish and Portuguese |
GST on top of the trade list
Suppliers publish trade prices before GST, so Cabinet Project starts every Australian company with GST at 10% added on top: the quote shows the price, the GST line and the total your client pays. The rate is yours to change, and it can differ by kind of line, materials, labour, installation and delivery, if part of the job is taxed differently. Your ABN goes on the documents next to your company details, and a trade client's ABN goes on the invoices you send them.
Units in centimetres, the same arithmetic
An Australian company works in metric: the kitchen layout, the walls and the cabinet widths read in centimetres, so a 600 mm base cabinet is 60 cm and a 3 m run is 300 cm. If you buy American stock sized in inches, switch the company to inches once in Settings. The quote is built the same way everywhere: the manufacturer's list price times your multiplier or discount, with your margin on top, plus installation by linear metre or by cabinet. The math is in how to quote a kitchen with list price × multiplier. You load each manufacturer's list from the PDF, a photo of the page or a CSV; see price list import.
Plans in Australian dollars
Plans are per company, not per seat. In Australia, Solo for one person is A$85 a month, Team for three is A$139, Shop for five is A$209 and Crew for ten is A$349; an extra seat above Team is A$22. Paying for a year costs ten months. Prices are before GST, every paid plan has the whole workflow, and the 14-day trial needs no card. The plan comparison for every country is on the price list by country.
What you will not find yet
- No Australian supplier catalogues preloaded. The shared catalogue holds US lines; you load your suppliers' trade lists yourself from the PDF or CSV.
- No Australian spelling. The screens read color and center; what you type is yours.
- No BAS lodgement. Invoices carry GST, but the activity statement goes through your accounting software.
- No direct manufacturer ordering, in Australia or anywhere: the PO goes out as a PDF or CSV.
The rest of the job, from the first visit to the defects list, works the same as in the US; the pages for kitchen showrooms and cabinet installers walk through it.
Questions
Do I pay in Australian or US dollars?
In Australian dollars. A company whose address is in Australia sees and buys the Australian price list in AUD; the US list is only for companies in the US and in countries without a regional list. Prices are before GST.
Is GST added on top of my prices?
Yes. An Australian company starts with a tax line named GST at 10%, added on top of the price, because suppliers' trade lists are before GST. You can change the rate, and keep separate rates for materials, labour, installation and delivery.
Does it measure in millimetres?
It measures in centimetres for an Australian company: a 600 mm base cabinet reads 60 cm in the kitchen layout and on the quote. You can switch the company to inches in Settings if you buy American stock.
Is the app in Australian English?
No. The screens are in American English, so you will read color and center. Your own item names, notes and documents are whatever you type.
