Load your manufacturer's cabinet price list without retyping it
Every cabinet quote starts at a manufacturer's price list, and most dealers receive it as a PDF with a column per door style. Retyping hundreds of SKUs is the step that stops dealers from using software at all. Cabinet Project reads the list for you and shows every row before anything is saved.
Three ways in
| Source | How it is read | Before saving |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturer PDF | AI reads the price table; you name the door style column to read, because most price books put several styles side by side | Review screen, row by row |
| Photo of a price page | Same reading as the PDF | Review screen, row by row |
| CSV (or Excel saved as CSV) | Read on your device: SKU and list price required; kind, description and dimensions optional | Same review screen |
The review step
Nothing goes into your catalog until you approve it. The review screen marks every row that needs a look:
- Missing price. A blank or "call" cell comes back with no price. The app never invents one.
- Guessed kind. When the file does not say whether a SKU is a base, wall, tall, vanity, filler, molding or panel, the kind is read from the industry SKU prefix (B and SB base, W wall, U and T tall, V vanity, F filler) and flagged so you can confirm it. The cabinet SKU codes guide lists the prefixes, and the SKU decoder reads one for you.
- No SKU, repeated SKU or unknown kind. Shown on the row, so you fix it or leave that row out.
Only clean rows are saved, with the source recorded (CSV or AI import). Importing the same SKU again on the same line updates its price instead of creating a duplicate. Widths come from the SKU when the file has none: B24 is 24″ wide, W3030 is 30″, U1884 is 18″.
How the catalog is organized
- Manufacturer → line → SKU. A line is a door style and finish. Each SKU is unique within its line and carries its list price and, when known, width, height and depth.
- Multipliers by scope. One for the company, one per manufacturer, one per line. The most specific one wins. Change it once and every new quote and the quick linear foot estimate follow.
- Labor rates live next to the catalog, per linear foot or each, so a quote can carry boxes and labor from the same settings. See pricing install labor by linear foot or by box.
- Private to your company. Your lines and multipliers are not visible to any other company.
Starting before the price list arrives
A new company gets a Starter sizes line with the standard US boxes by nominal size: bases B09 to B36, sink bases, drawer bases, walls at 30, 36 and 42″ high, over-the-refrigerator walls, tall pantries, an oven cabinet, fillers, end panels, lazy susans, blind corners and a diagonal corner wall. You can draw a kitchen on it the first day. Its prices are zero on purpose, and the app says so on the line, so no quote goes out with a made-up number. The full size table is in standard kitchen cabinet sizes.
What you do with it next
With the line loaded you can quote by SKU, draw the kitchen in the layout editor on that line, and offer the homeowner a render of their kitchen in that door style from the customer portal. Price list import, including the AI reading, is on every paid plan; the Free plan quotes by linear foot only.
Questions
What if a price on the PDF says "call" or is blank?
The row comes back without a price and flagged as missing. The app never fills in a number it could not read. You type it during the review, or leave that row out.
Can other dealers see my price list or my multiplier?
No. A catalog you load belongs to your company and is invisible to other companies, and the multiplier is a company setting seen only by users with the pricing settings permission.
Do you support Excel files?
Save the sheet as CSV and import that. The CSV needs a SKU and a list price per row; kind, description and width, height and depth are optional, and the width is read from the SKU when the column is missing.
