Cabinet software for kitchen dealers and fitters in the euro area

Published by Design Master Solutions LLC

A kitchen dealer in Dublin, Munich or Lyon quotes the same way as one in the US: a manufacturer's trade list, a discount or multiplier, a margin on top, then fitting. What changes is everything around the numbers: euros on the quote, your country's VAT, a VAT number on the invoice, units in metric. Cabinet Project sets those up from your company address, so the first quote already reads right.

Each country's VAT on top of the trade list

Manufacturers publish trade prices before VAT, so Cabinet Project starts each company with its country's standard rate added on top: the quote shows the price, the VAT line and the total your client pays. The rates it starts with are the 2026 standard ones:

Standard VAT rate a new company starts with, by country
CountryVAT
Ireland, PortugalIreland 23%, Portugal 23%
Germany, CyprusGermany 19%, Cyprus 19%
France, Austria, BulgariaFrance 20%, Austria 20%, Bulgaria 20%
Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Latvia, LithuaniaSpain 21%, Netherlands 21%, Belgium 21%, Latvia 21%, Lithuania 21%
Italy, SloveniaItaly 22%, Slovenia 22%
Slovakia, Estonia, Greece, Croatia, FinlandSlovakia 23%, Estonia 24%, Greece 24%, Croatia 25%, Finland 25.5%
Malta, LuxembourgMalta 18%, Luxembourg 17%

The rate is yours to change, and it can differ by kind of line, materials, labour, installation and delivery, if part of the job falls under a reduced rate. Your VAT number goes on the documents next to your company details, and a trade client's VAT number goes on the invoices you send them.

Units in centimetres, the same arithmetic

A euro area company works in metric: the kitchen layout, the walls and the cabinet widths read in centimetres, so a 60 cm base cabinet is 60 cm and a 3 m run is 300 cm. If you buy American stock sized in inches, switch the company to inches once in Settings. The quote is built the same way everywhere: the manufacturer's list price times your multiplier or discount, with your margin on top, plus fitting by linear metre or by cabinet. The math is in how to quote a kitchen with list price × multiplier. You load each manufacturer's list from the PDF, a photo of the page or a CSV; see price list import.

Plans in euros

Plans are per company, not per seat. In the euro area, Solo for one person is €55 a month, Team for three is €89, Shop for five is €135 and Crew for ten is €225; an extra seat above Team is €13. Paying for a year costs ten months. Prices are before VAT, every paid plan has the whole workflow, and the 14-day trial needs no card. EU countries outside the euro, such as Poland, Sweden or Denmark, quote in their own currency and buy the US list; the comparison for every country is on the price list by country.

What you will not find yet

The rest of the job, from the first visit to the snag list, works the same as in the US; the pages for kitchen showrooms and cabinet installers walk through it. Fitters in the UK have their own page.

Questions

Do I pay in euros or US dollars?

In euros. A company whose address is in a euro area country, from Ireland and Portugal to Finland and Bulgaria, sees and buys the euro price list in EUR. Prices are before VAT.

Which VAT rate does it start with?

Your country's standard rate: 23% in Ireland and Portugal, 19% in Germany, 20% in France and Austria, 21% in Spain, the Netherlands and Belgium, 22% in Italy, and so on. It is added on top of the price, and you can change it or keep separate rates for materials, labour, installation and delivery.

Does it handle the intra-EU reverse charge?

Not automatically. If you sell to a business in another EU country, mark that client Tax Exempt so their quotes carry no VAT, and add the reverse charge note yourself; the client's VAT number can go on the invoice.

Is the app in German, French or Italian?

Not yet. The screens are in American English, Spanish and Portuguese. Your own item names, notes and documents are whatever you type.

Is there a data processing agreement for GDPR?

Yes. Our Data Processing Addendum at cabinetproject.app/dpa/ is part of the Terms and applies automatically: we process your clients' data only on your instructions, list every subprocessor, notify a breach within 72 hours and delete on request. Data is stored in the United States, and the transfer is covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses. Write to us if you need a countersigned copy.
