Cabinet Project vs Housecall Pro: price and fit for a cabinet business
Housecall Pro runs scheduling, estimates, invoices and payments for home-service trades, and plenty of cabinet installers who also do handyman or remodeling work already have it. Cabinet Project covers the same path from estimate to payment, but it starts at the manufacturer's price list and follows the cabinet job: the box list, the order, the delivery check and the punch list.

Housecall Pro's page lists features by plan: Basic has online booking, scheduling and dispatch, estimates and invoicing, payments and consumer financing, a price book and job costing. Essentials adds routes, checklist automations, photo reports and QuickBooks Online sync. Max adds a sales proposal tool, route optimization and API access. Every Cabinet Project paid plan has the whole workflow; plans differ by users and kitchen renders a month, and open with a 14-day trial without a card.
What a cabinet job needs that Housecall Pro's pricing page does not list
- Manufacturer price lists by SKU. A price book is a list of services you type. A cabinet line is hundreds of SKUs (B24, SB36, W3030) per door style, and the price changes when the manufacturer sends a new list. Cabinet Project imports the list from the PDF or spreadsheet and you review it before it is used.
- Your multiplier. Dealer cost is list × multiplier, set per company, manufacturer or line. The cost never reaches the customer's PDF or portal.
- A box list from a drawing. Walls, corners, islands and fillers drawn once, then priced per wall with one click.
- The order and the delivery check. The approved quote becomes a PO to the manufacturer, and the delivery is checked box by box with photos, with the claim e-mail for a missing or damaged box.
Where Housecall Pro is the better tool
- Service work. If most of your calls are repairs, adjustments and small jobs booked online, Housecall Pro's online booking, recurring service plans and review management are built for that, and Cabinet Project does not have them.
- Consumer financing is listed on every Housecall Pro plan. Cabinet Project takes card payments and deposits in the customer portal and can split an invoice into installments, but it does not offer consumer financing.
- GPS tracking and route optimization for a larger fleet are on Housecall Pro's Essentials and Max plans.
Where Cabinet Project fits
A dealer or crew whose work is mostly selling and installing kitchens: the money is in the quote being right, the order being right and the boxes arriving whole. If you install cabinets that someone else sells, see the page for installer crews; if you sell them, the page for RTA dealers. For a direct comparison of the two general tools, read Jobber vs Housecall Pro for a cabinet install crew, or see Jobber next to Cabinet Project.
